Thanksgiving is coming. It is a common holiday in the United States and Canada. It was originally created by the American people in order to thank the God for the good harvest and to thank the Indians for their help. People will eat turkey together to celebrate it. Today, I want to talk about 10 things that are thankful for me.      1: I am thankful for the kindness people that have ever met before. I am truly appreciate for the simple kindness in my daily life. Such as when my classmates stay a few seconds and hold up the door for me.      2: I am thankful for my family. I am so grateful that my family offered me the chance to study abroad and give me a happy life .      3: I am thankful for Mrs. Berzinskas. She helps me to improve my English and gives us a wonderful class environment.      4: I am thankful for my friends. They give me a lot of help on my academic part and they will encourage me when I am dep...

Fall Break

Hi, this is Jessica Le. I want to talk about the things that I did for fall break.        Fortunately, My roommate Grace invited me to her house and spent time with her family. First day, we went to Dollywood which was  a  theme park   jointly owned by entertainer Dolly Parton. I was really excited to go because I have not go to a theme park since I came to Tennessee. However, when we got the pass tickets and I couldn't wait to take the most scary roller coaster in this park called The Eagle. Grace dragged me and said she  couldn't stand upside down. Oh my god, upside down is my favorite part. I was so sad and disappointed but I chose to leave. When I was leaving that park, I turned to back repeatedly at every step,        Next day, we went to Indoor  Wingsuit Flying. I have searched this online in China but I have never tried. At first...

Mark Elliot Zukerberg

I learned the story about Mark this week. I admired him really much by reading his story. Mark Elliot Zuckerberg , the youngest billionaire in the world who has more than 500 trillion dollars of net assets, has been inspiring me that we are supposed to not be very superficial. On the contrary, we should more concern about the spiritual things in our lives. When he was in the Harvard school, he showed his amazing talent that he built a website and this website make the Harvard school website collapsed as a whole. Then he quit for school and created a company named Facebook which is the second largest economy in the world.  The surprising thing was that his wife and he never squandered his money as many billionaires. In fact, Zuckerberg donated ninety-nine percent of the company's shares to the charity institutions and his car even was not cost 200 thousands yuan. It is hard to imagine, a billionaire’s life was so brutal and simple. Actually, this was very admiring ...
Dear ponyboy: My name is Susan who was a member of Socs. I know that you guys of Greasers might admire us. However, I need to tell you that you totally misunderstand us. Maybe we have good grades, good cars and good outfits in your eyes. But that's wrong, it was not the money that separate us. The surprising this for you is I actually nurse jealousy against the greasers. You guys are real and emotional. I think you are the first person that I've ever really gotten through to. Johnny and you even can understand each other without talking. Your gang is defined as family that each one of Greaser stick up for the members, make like brothers. This is so different from us. I will say something fake to a friend. I don't really a beer blast on the river bottom is super-cool, but I'll rave about one to a girl-friend just to be  saying something, then I realize I don't ,earn half of what I'm saying. It's really crazy, isn't it? But that is actually how we act i...

Thinking about the story of Columbus

This week I read the story about Columbus who was a famous navigator and explorer. He was a controversial historical figure because he pend up the rise of American but he also murdered many American Indians. From his story, I learned that I can dream what I want to dream; go where I want to go; be what I want be because we only have one life and only one change to do all the things we want to do. Columbus was a charming person due to his braveness and innovative spirit. He did not have a correct and necessary map for his voyage. However, he still made the first voyage across the Atlantic.     American history is the hardest subject for me because I don’t have any background and English is not my first language. I even had the second the thought when I first looked at the textbook. From now on, I’m gonna say yes to this subject that I need to work on it. Nothing is difficult, if you put your heart into it.

The First Week

I came to America for high school in this August and I was so nervous about my school life. Now, I wanted to write a blog for my first week of The Webb School. When I step into the school gate, I was excited and a little bit worried about the friends issue due to I was the only new international student in my grade. However, when I met my roommate Grace who was so appealing and talkative, that really helped me to relieve the pressure. About the classes, some of them were a little bit hard for me especially the history. I could understand the textbook but I couldn't understand what was the teacher talking about in the class. I would work harder and try to get higher grades. The facilities were good, the counselors were good and the teachers were good. Everything seems to be moving in the direction I want.
