The story about Messi

Last weekend, I accidentally read an incredible story about Lionel Messi. I was shocked by him, and that story totally changed my mind. Messi, the greatest soccer player in the world who has won the FIFA World player of the year. Coached by his father, Messi really enjoyed soccer when he was a little boy. So he took this sport so seriously that he attended a soccer club in his hometown. Unfortunately and unexpectedly, Messi was diagnosed as dwarfism at a physical examination. He could not grow up to 140cm unless immediate treatment was received. Many patients with this disease would give up. On the contrary, he even practiced harder than before. Surprisingly, after two years’ efforts, the coach of Barcelona found his talent and invited him to join the teenager team of Barcelona. As a result, with his parents’ support, he  determined to move to the city where the team is. Finally, he emerged as the best among the team, and a medical group was organized to cur...

Sugar

I believe school cafeterias should stop selling soft drinks and other high-sugar drinks. In today's society, most people especially students have sugar addiction. They love high-sugar drinks such as coke and sprite. However, they are extremely unhealthy for human bodies.     First, it is a well known that soda is harmful for teeth. Soda contains acids like phosphoric acid and carbonic acid. These acid create a highly acidic environment in the mouth, which makes the teeth vulnerable to decay. Also, sugar creates a perfect growing environment for bacterias("Leech"). So, drinking high-sugar drinks can cause severe adverse effects on dental health.     Furthermore, drinking sugary soda raises obesity risk in students. Since many of soft-drinks have on nutritional benefits, these drinks contains lots of caffeine. The caffeine in many of them can replace the nutrient-dense foods like milk and suppress hunger in students(" “10 Harmful Effects Of Soft Drinks ...

spring break

I went to China for this spring break. It was fun. At the first day, my mother and I went to a park with our dogs. They were so cute that everybody was looking and talking about them. People who were walking by us asked us how old are they. They kept asking me are they your dogs.  Their facial expression told me they were jealous. We saw so many cherry trees and they were so beautiful. If you were me, you would take so many pictures for these flowers. My mom told me she had never seen this beautiful scenery before she came here. Then, I found my bicycle and helped to rent one for my mom. Hers was the way prettier than mine. It was pink and white. Its handle had a cartoon sticker. She liked her new bicycle. In the next two hours, we were riding around the park and the wind was blowing through our face. When I stopped by a small pavilion, I saw one of my friends. He came here with his family too. I said hi to him. In the end, I went back home. It was a gre...

Racism in our society

In history class, we studied Reconstruction Era. Racism which also known as racial discrimination caused lots of problems during that time. So I want to talk about mordern racism.            Racism is man’s inhumanity in our society. One race believe they have a higher social status than the others. According to the researches,  Whites can earn more than Blacks and Hispanics regardless their gender. Whites have a higher “status”, white men with a prison record were more likely to be offered a job than African American men who had a clean record. During the Reconstruction Era, Black Codes and KKK were forms of racism.   Racism becomes one of the deepest problems in the world. So, how can we solve it? I have several recommendations: First, don’t make assumptions. Not every African American likes rap music or Asians is good at math. Stereotypes hurt everyone. Examine what your prejudices are and make adjus...

Christmas Break

I was too excited to fall asleep when I finished all the tests. I finally could go back to home! After sitting on the plane for more than 20 hours, I saw my parents. My mother's hair seemed much longer and my father seemed to be stronger than he used to be. Perhaps he worked out more frequently than before. When we got the parking area, my three lovely dogs ran to me and wagged their tails. I missed them all the time.  Then we drove to home.        Next day was not that fortunate. I was infected with flu and I had a high fever. The cause of this was my best friend who studies in Germany came back at the same time and she stayed in our house. However, she had a flu and I didn't know that till I was infected. My parents brought me to the hospital and I got two shots. I felt terrible in that three days. Flu has made me loose my appetite. You know, I even made a long list about what I am going to eat in China.      ...
