Sugar

I believe school cafeterias should stop selling soft drinks and other high-sugar drinks. In today's society, most people especially students have sugar addiction. They love high-sugar drinks such as coke and sprite. However, they are extremely unhealthy for human bodies.
First, it is a well known that soda is harmful for teeth. Soda contains acids like phosphoric acid and carbonic acid. These acid create a highly acidic environment in the mouth, which makes the teeth vulnerable to decay. Also, sugar creates a perfect growing environment for bacterias("Leech"). So, drinking high-sugar drinks can cause severe adverse effects on dental health.
Furthermore, drinking sugary soda raises obesity risk in students. Since many of soft-drinks have on nutritional benefits, these drinks contains lots of caffeine. The caffeine in many of them can replace the nutrient-dense foods like milk and suppress hunger in students("“10 Harmful Effects Of Soft Drinks You Must Remember.”).
Finally, research has shown that those who resume soft drinks regularly have twenty percent higher risk of getting a heart attack. When people consume too much sugar, there are fewer chances of them getting fiber-rich fruit and vegetables. This can lead an imbalance in their lipids and cause heart problems("Leech").

  1. Nice job. Please proofread and correct. Don't forget! Words like Coke and Sprite should be capitalized because they are the names of products, proper nouns! 16/20
